My name is Liliann Hatting and I am a freelance photographer as well as a newborn photographer. After graduating high school in my hometown of Grinnell Iowa, I attended Indian Hills Community College and completed an Associate of Art. Following graduation, I entered the workforce for about a year and a half before I was ready to go back to school to complete a bachelors degree. Upon completion of my B.S. in Marketing from Iowa State University, I discovered a new passion working as a newborn photographer in the Des Moines and Ames areas. Eventually, the opportunity presented itself for me to continue photographing babies in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I made the cross country move at the end of July 2023. When I'm not behind the lens, you can likely find me thrifting (I seldom ever buy clothes brand new, I love the idea of giving clothing a second life!), hiking, working out, shopping small and/or local businesses, exploring new coffee shops, or attending live music events.
Additionally, I am a proud guinea pig mother (or furry potatoes as I call them) who I obsess over. Some things that I am passionate about include: human rights, personal growth & development, mental health, spirituality, mindfulness, self-care, journaling, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
I created this website as a resource for anyone who is interested in doing business with me, networking with me, or just simply getting to know a little bit more about me. Currently, this site features my work experience, educational background, certifications and awards, as well as my photography portfolio, and a list of my available photography services along with their prices.
I feel like my life is constantly changing, and to the point where it might be difficult for other people to keep up based on what I post on social media. This website is a great resource because everything is categorized for your convenience, and includes additional media in an interactive format. One thing is for sure... you will be able to learn a lot more about me and my background from this website than you ever could from a one-page resume!
Here is a video of me competing in the ISU Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship Pitch Off Finals in February of 2022. The idea that I came up with and pitched was a sustainable universal phone case.

Following my participation in the College-By-College Pitch Off and the Pitch Off finals, I was contacted by a representative of Live Green! and asked to be featured in the April 2022 newsletter.
